Under eye filler with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a specialized cosmetic procedure aimed at rejuvenating the under eye area by addressing concerns such as dark circles, hollows, and fine lines under the eye. This procedure should only be performed by a trained professional, as the under eye is an extremely delicate area of the face prone to bruising and nodules.
This treatment uses PRP, or platelet rich plasma, derived from the patient’s own blood to stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture. PRP is made by taking the patient’s blood and spinning it using a centrifuge rotating at fast rotations per minute to separate your body’s most potent pro-growth factors from your red and white blood cells. The resulting injectate is placed in areas where your body needs a regenerative boost the most!
Under eyes can also be injected with filler when done with care. This procedure is extremely delicate and should only be done by a trained professional such as our injectors at HavenMD. Oftentimes, our injectors will first inject surrounding areas such as the temples, cheeks, midface, and underneath nearby fatty structures to maximize support to the undereye and minimize the amount of filler placed directly in the undereye.
Undereye filler can be combined with PRP in the right candidate!
Under eye filler with PRP can target various concerns in the under eye area, including tear troughs, hollows, fine lines, and dark circles.
The combination of dermal fillers and PRP offers comprehensive rejuvenation for a more refreshed and youthful appearance.
Filler that is placed in the under eye is the silkiest, smoothest filler that can be used. This is done to minimize the risk of nodule formation or side effects such as migration. Great care is taken to place filler carefully to minimize migration, swelling, or an unnatural appearance at HavenMD.
Ideal candidates for under eye filler with PRP are individuals looking to address signs of aging and fatigue in the under eye area, including hollows, dark circles, and fine lines. Ideal candidates for undereye filler are carefully selected based on the cause of their undereye hollowness. Patients with fat degradation may require a laser treatment prior to undereye filler injection to optimize the landscape for filler injection. Patients with true hollowing rather than muscle degradation and fat propulsion are the ideal under eye filler candidates.
Candidates should be in good overall health and have realistic expectations for the outcome of the procedure.

The procedure takes about 20-30 minutes. Some things you can do to prepare for your filler treatment are to avoid medications that stop platelets from working, such as Aspirin, Aleve, and Ibuprofen/Motrin for 2 days prior, and to avoid drinking more than one alcoholic beverage the night before your injectable treatment. Taking arnica tablets ahead of your treatment will reduce bruising.
On the day of your procedure, your provider will review any allergies, active issues that will change your treatment pattern, and any potential contraindications to your undereye injection. Your provider will also discuss approximate amounts to be utilized for your treatment and give you an estimated pricing for your treatment.
The procedure typically takes less than an hour to complete, and patients can resume normal activities immediately afterward. Care should be taken not to flatten recently injected areas, and not to place dirty objects near recently injected areas (such as a phone that has not been recently cleaned or dirty pillowcases when sleeping at night).
No special preparation is required, although patients may be advised to avoid certain medications or supplements that can increase the risk of bruising.
